The world needs scientists, now more than ever. For humanity to thrive in the face of climate change and other global challenges, we need to reinvent our economy to be sustainable, resilient, and equitable.
To do that, we need scientists to bring their groundbreaking research to market as products and businesses that would otherwise not exist.
People Are the Change
We find those promising individuals whose research has the potential to transform our world and who are driven to bring that research to market for the benefit of society.
Through our fellowship, they develop as leaders, mature their ideas, and learn what it takes to build a viable, scalable business. After two-years, nearly all of them achieve the milestones needed to set them on that path.
A Shot at Scale
By supporting scientists at the outset of their entrepreneurial journey, we are often the difference between our fellows having a real shot at scaling their ideas or not getting started at all.
These scientists will bring new products to market that change how we power our lives, how we make things, how our buildings work, how we move around the world, and how we use resources to nourish our society.
A Better Future, for All
We aim to identify and support 100 new Activate Fellows every year. We believe this unprecedented community of science entrepreneurs, working to reinvent our economy to address climate change, the defining challenge of our time, will shape our world for generations to come.
In doing so, we will be an engine for shared U.S. prosperity, creating an unprecedented community of technology leaders whose innovations will build a better future, for all.
